Thurston on education

I was introducing mathoverflow to a student and wanted to show him that world class mathematicians hang out there. In the list of top contributors I saw Thurston’s name and pointed it out to the student. Of course the name didn’t ring a bell but winning a Fields medal seemed convincing enough.

I didn’t know that Thurston also devoted his time to math education. The following is a link to some quotes of his. I enjoyed reading his 1990 article on math education.
