Math and Movies

A huge collection of video clips of movies and tv programmes that feature some mathematics. Some of which are a hoot. I especially love the one from Wizard of OZ where Scarecrow proclaims “the sum of the square root of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the other side!”

For a nicely made short movie (14 min) centered on a mathematician and a theorem — Goldbach’s Conjecture — see The Calculus of Love. Warning though, there isn’t actually any calculus and there is a also a cringe-worthy moment when the so called mathematican pronounced “you-ler”.
