While reading some math blogs, I came across this error in the game show Jeopardy. The premise of the show is that contestants are shown answers and they are supposed to provide the question. The offending segment occurred on the 31 Dec 2018 show. Dailymotion has a video and it occurs at about 7:10. The answer was
In math, when the number of elements in a set is countable, it’s this kind of set.
Of course, the contestant offered “what is finite?” and was told he was correct. By the way, the clue for the question was ‘ends in “ite”‘, so the answer could have been changed to uncountable and the corresponding “what is infinite?” would make perfect sense.
